Your community's animal shelter
Help make a difference
Orphans of the Storm is your community’s animal shelter. By choosing to volunteer your time and talents, you are helping to make a difference to thousands of homeless animals that arrive to our door each year.
At over 130 days of off-site adoption and fundraising events each year, volunteers transport dogs and cats out into the community, introducing them to the public, assisting in finding loving adoptive homes, and acting as ambassadors to spread the word about the shelter and its life-saving mission.
Ways to get involved

Adoption Events
Volunteers are valuable as transporters of the dogs and cats as well as manning the event. Volunteers are expected to be familiar enough with the shelter’s basic policies to answer questions from the public.

Fundraising Events
An example of a fundraising event would be a corporate volunteer fair where a team of Orphans volunteers would man a table to answer questions from the corporate employees. Or you may find yourself gift wrapping for donations during the holiday season.

Shelter Greeters
We have found that when visitors are greeted upon arrival, they stay longer and adopt more often. Our customers are golden, so we need more trained greeters.

Feline Friends
Join our feline friends to socialize, groom and get to know our fabulous cats in our new cat wing.
