Help make a difference
Orphans of the Storm is your community’s animal shelter. By volunteering your time and talents, you are helping to make a difference to thousands of homeless animals arriving at our door each year.
We aim to be visible in the community, promoting pet adoption at hundreds of offsite events each year, and we need volunteers to make that happen! We also need volunteers at the shelter to serve as greeters and help provide enrichment and care to our animals. There are so many ways to get involved!
Ways to get involved
Volunteers serve as adoption ambassadors for our animals. Promoting them to potential adopters and providing friendly customer service to visitors.
Once you complete a profile in our VolunteerHub, you can begin signing up for shifts at our Hawthorn Mall and Northbrook Court locations.
Available to volunteers 13 years old and up.
An example of a fundraising event would be a corporate volunteer fair where a team of Orphans volunteers would staff a table to answer questions from the corporate employees. Or you may find yourself gift wrapping for donations during the holiday season.
