Foster Cats

Julie is the Queen Cat! She is regal, independent, opinionated, and not afraid to show it. Julie enjoys the company of people, but is very picky about physical touch and affection. She prefers affection on her terms. She's what we refer to as a "Trophy Cat"; since she would rather be looked at and told how pretty she is than being touched. This royal lady is looking for an experienced cat owner that is willing to respect her boundaries and acknowledge her behavioral cues. Julie does enjoy being pet on the top of her head, and can enjoy being brushed as well. She loves to rub against your legs just to say hi as she walks by. Julie absolutely loves freeze-dried chicken treats; it's a great tool to help gain her trust initially. Most important of all, our favorite quality of hers is her MEOW! Talkative is an understatement for this girl. She will meow all the time, and she enjoys having conversations with her friends here at the shelter. She can get a bit overstimulated but does show clear signs when enough is enough. Signs to look for with her would be her constant "yelling", ears being pinned back, and tail swaying. Queen Julie would do best in a home with no other cats and no children. She can coexist with other cats at the shelter, but would be much happier in a home where she's the star of the show. Julie would also do best in an adult only based home. Julie will require time and patience when she gets home. Her decompression period will be a vital time for her when she first arrives. If transitioned properly, we truly believe that Julie will blossom into a great companion. She will sit on your lap from time to time, but again its strictly on her terms. I am looking for a foster to give me a break from the shelter and help me transition into home life.
