Foster Cats

Nighthawk is a handsome cat with a rich ebony coat. He is not shy by any means and definitely knows what he wants. He is affectionate but within his own limitations. Too much stimulation and this kitty can be a bit overbearing. He is a very active cat that will require an active lifestyle. Since he can get overstimulated easily, it would be best to have electronic toys around that can turn on by motion. Throwing him jingle balls to play with or using wand toys/laser pointers can also help with this. We started him on some medicine to see if it would help with his overstimulation and it has done wonders! He's much more relaxed and calm on it. He has been tolerant with being handled more. But he still can get overstimulated. He gives very clear signs though that he is bothered. Some of the signs you'll want to watch for are, ears being pinned back, him wagging his tail, he will hiss and do a low grumble. His overstimulation doesn't come from being aggressive or fractious though. It's more so boredom. He's super active. Nighthawk would thrive best in an adult only home with an experienced cat handler. He is very smart as well. He knows what "No" and "Eh Eh" mean. It is important that his boundaries are respected. Nighthawk would also do best in a home that can continue to work with him on his redirection. He needs someone who will teach him that hands are not toys. He can be very cuddly and a lap cat but that's typically on his terms. He really enjoys watching cat tv on YouTube! He even fancies watching movies like Milo and Otis or Secret Life of Pets. He knows how to give high fives but usually will only do it for some temptation treats. He is super treat motivated as well. He is an alpha cat and can be cat selective. He would be best as your only cat. If you like a little spice with your cat, Nighthawk is your boy! I am looking for a foster to help me transition from shelter life to home life and continue working with me to keep me active.
