Dogs

Riley has been waiting at the shelter for years for the right person. She is a special girl who needs a special adopter. Riley is a favorite at the shelter - her gigantic smile is contagious and her soulful eyes catch everyone who walks by. Riley is 11 years old - but you would never guess it. She is active - she loves walks, zooming in the yard, and cuddling! Riley's adoption needs are special because she struggles with separation anxiety. At the shelter, she is surrounded by sounds, animals, and people, so her separation anxiety doesn't really show. However, in a home environment, Riley has trouble adjusting to being alone. She loves her people so much that she simply does not want to be without them and will take drastic measures to get to them when alone. THE GOOD NEWS IS, separation anxiety is treatable. Riley will need a home with a person who has time to dedicate to addressing Riley's separation anxiety. She will need to be the only pet in a home without small children. Riley will come with a special crate for training and a session with a vet behaviorist to begin the transition. Her age and years at the shelter have caught up with her a bit, though, and she has arthritis and takes some pain medication for that. While Riley is well taken care of at the shelter, all dogs deserve a home to call their own. We know Riley's forever home is out there.
