Orphans of the Storm has created this privacy policy statement to demonstrate our firm commitment to internet privacy. Please check back to this privacy policy statement to ensure you know of any changes that may be made to it.

  • For each visitor to our Web page, our Web server recognizes no information automatically regarding the e-mail address.
  • We collect the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail and information volunteered by visitors, such as survey information and/or site registrations.
  • The information we collect is not shared with any other organization or business for any purpose, whatsoever.
  • If you do not want to receive e-mail from us in the future, please let us know by sending us e-mail at the above address or writing to us at the above address.
  • If you supply us with your postal address on-line you may receive notices of upcoming events or periodic mailings from us about our mission to be a refuge for homeless dogs and cats from all over northeast Illinois. If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know by e-mailing us or writing to us at the above address.
  • We do not share or sell any names or addresses with any other organizations or businesses. Therefore if you receive mailings from other reputable charitable organizations or anyone else, you can be assured that they did not receive your name and address from us.
  • Persons who supply us with their telephone numbers on-line will only receive telephone contact from us about upcoming events or information about our mission. You can, however, ask not to be called. Please let us know by e-mailing us or writing to us at the above address.
  • With respect to ad servers: We do not partner with or have any relationships with any ad server companies.
  • From time to time, we may use donor or visitor information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will post the policy changes to our Web site to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at our Web site periodically.
  • Upon request we offer visitors the ability to have inaccuracies corrected in contact information. Site visitors can have this information corrected by e-mailing us or writing to us at the above address.
  • With respect to security: When we transfer and receive certain types of sensitive information such as financial information, we redirect visitors to a secure server. We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site. However, your confidential use of this site cannot be guaranteed.   • This site contains hypertext links to other sites and information about other organizations. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites or organizations.
  • During a normal website visit: You can visit most portions of the Orphans of the Storm web site without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal information. The only information we collect from a normal website visit is the name of your Internet service provider, the browser and type of machine you are using, the web site that referred you to us, the pages you request and the date and time of those requests. We use this information to generate statistics and measure site activity to improve the usefulness of the site to our visitors. We collect this information on an aggregate basis only. For example, we track which pages are most popular among visitors as a whole. This information is used for internal review only and not shared with third parties. We do not track information on which pages an individual visitor might look at during a visit to our site. We do not collect any other information without the visitor's knowledge and permission. Unless you fill out one of our on-line forms, we do not collect or store personally identifiable information such as name, mailing address, email address, phone number or social security of the visitor during a normal web site visit.
