Riverwoods, IL--Two young friends that support the work of Orphans of the Storm decided recently to hold a lemonade stand to raise money for the shelter.
Emma and Chandler spent two hours on a Saturday in their Deerfield neighborhood selling the refreshing drink. Despite the cloudy weather, however, the two girls’ salesmanship of the $.25 per cup of Lemonade kept sales and donations brisk to the point where they were very happy with the final donation amount made to Orphans of the Storm days later. The money will be used in the shelter’s general operations helping to maintain a place for lost, abandoned and abused dogs and cats to stay until they can be united with loving, adoptive families. Orphans thanks Emma and Chandler very much!
