Larry the Black Lab Mix
Larry was another young dog when he came to us in 1997—he was just 4 months old. Larry was found in an outbuilding in Libertyville by the authorities there. Larry grew up at our shelter and knew no other environment. He was a sweet dog with a playful personality, and had made a lot of friends of the staff and visitors at the shelter. Yet, it was increasingly surprising that he was overlooked by visitors and had not yet been adopted after 4 years. Our shelter administrator told the story of Larry to Michelle, and after taking him for a walk, she saw what a lovely dog he was and adopted him that day. The staff were so happy for Larry - it was an emotional day at the shelter. Now, we are told, Larry loves his bed but, when he gets up, he plays endlessly.
